We have been actively working to address your request to enable Known Folder Move (KFM) support for macOS, and we ’re thrilled to announce that soon you ’ll be able to roll out KFM for your macOS users and redirect their Desktop, Documents, and Pictures folders to OneDrive. Note: OneDrive is currently available using Rosetta 2 on M1 -powered Macs.

We are thrilled to announce that later this year, we will be updating OneDrive for Mac to run natively on M1 -powered Macs. This means that OneDrive will take full advantage of the performance improvements on M1, making you even more productive on the latest iMac, MacBook Air, 13-inch MacBook Pro, and Mac mini. Today, we ’re excited to share some of the updates and improvements we ’re in the process of making to OneDrive running on Apple products to help people be more productive no matter where they are. W e have been working closely with Apple to ensure we ’re providing a great user experience in OneDrive on Apple products, whether people are using OneDrive to keep their work files synced and protected or to store and share their personal files and photos in the cloud.

To stop syncing a site, click Stop Sync next to the site. To change the folders that you are syncing, click Choose Folders for that location, and then choose the folders you want to sync.Click Preferences, and then the Account tab.Click the OneDrive icon in the menu bar.You can manage your syncing sites in the sync app settings. The folder is automatically added to the left navigation panel in Finder. SharePoint team sites sync under a folder with your tenant name. Choose the folders that you want to sync, then click Start sync.If your browser requests permission to use "Microsoft OneDrive," confirm that this is okay.Click Documents or navigate to the subfolder that you want to sync.When signed into with your work or school M365 account, click the Microsoft 365 app launcher in the top left, and then click SharePoint.Sync SharePoint Sites To sync libraries and folders Open up your OneDrive folder in Finder to see overlays on your files and folders. Toggle on the OneDrive Finder Integration to enable Finder overlays.Click the Apple logo in the top left corner of your Mac Desktop and select System Preferences > Extensions.If you're on OSX 10.10 or higher, get sync status directly from Finder by enabling Finder overlays in Settings. There will also be a folder in Finder call OneDrive - YourTenantName. So if you have a work or school account and a personal account you are syncing their will be two cloud icons. You'll have a cloud icon for every account you've connected to OneDrive. You can find OneDrive up in your Menu bar. You're done! Click Open my OneDrive folder to see your files sync to your folder.This conserves space on your computer, and reduces bandwidth needed for the sync processes. On the Sync Files from Your OneDrive screen, you can choose the folders you want to sync to your computer, and click Next.Now the This Is Your OneDrive Folder screen will display the new folder path chosen. Select a location where you would like to save your OneDrive files and click Choose this location. On the This Is Your OneDrive Folder screen, click Change Location. This can be changed during setup if required. When setting up OneDrive a defaults location is set.There are a few points of OneDrive Setup that are helpful to watch for: Enter your work or school account and then select Sign in to set up your account.Start OneDrive by pressing cmd + Space to launch a Spotlight and type OneDrive.The sync app creates local folders that mirror your cloud storage and makes sure that any changes are synchronised between the two. The OneDrive sync app for Mac connects your OneDrive and SharePoint cloud storage with your Mac so that you can use Finder and other applications on your local machine to work with these files.
